‘There is always a point at which the terrorist ceases to manipulate the media pattern. A point at which the violence may well escalate, but beyond which the terrorist has become symptomatic of the media gestalt itself. Terrorism as we ordinarily understand it is innately media-related.’
-Novelist William Gibson

Explanation:- Quote from the blog of William Gibson. The link between the quote made by the Novelist William Gibson with my area of study is about Terrorism and TV News and Crime shows creating a moral panic through what is shown/heard through the media. Here Gibson is saying that Terroism is affected by the media - What the media shows about Terrorism may not be right however, Terrorist, terrorise which gets into the medias limelight and is then reflected and the media do what they are told to do - to report back actions. It has alomost become like a pattern - Terrorism occurs and the media - mediate back through the many platforms.

Explanation:- This passage taken from the book - Media, Terrorism and Theory: A Reader by Anandam P. Kavoori and Todd Fraley, basically explains that there is no control over what is being broadcasted through the different platform as news. Terrorism and the actions by a Terrorist may have been edited as the media has the power to broadcast what they want and either write a bad review/story or a good - right and left wing, depending what organisation they are. This links to my Hypothesis by what they are saying as this is the whole point of my coursework and what we get shown throught TV shows and the News and Crime shows and if it creates a moral panic to society.
- 'Accordingly, social trends, general fears and aspirations, the staus of various groups and the power of ruling elites will be seen reflected in the media.'
- Propaganda can be politically contreversial (after Sept 11)- John Hartely

This change can be backed up by many films which have been created about the Attacks and Dramas on TV and programmes which have been created show the change and the way in which Muslims have been targeted and views have now changed about them by others in society.
An example of the change within society can be shown through for example the ‘Britz’, a drama based series in which is about a brother and sister who the drama is focused on as they follow them showing the different views and the different directions they take to not be attacked as a Terrorist as they are Muslim and British born. The drama shows the high level of security that London is faced with due to these Attacks and bombings have resulted the police and
2010 a new year, and stories about a bomb being plot on a US plane has been accused by Obamma to be plotted by Al-Qaeda on Christmas day. This then arises the fear of terrorism happening again in the US and creates a moral panic.
The alledged accusation that was made when the Twin Towers was attacked, was that they had been been a set up by Bush who set up the attacks on US himself, this involves the political parties to put togeher their debates and creates more of a hype as different side - right and left wing - have many views on what they think.
